About Trainers Assistant
Trainers Assistant has been set up with the support of the National Trainers Federation to get its members access to goods and services on better terms and conditions than they might otherwise be able to negotiate on their own.

We have included businesses that have been prepared to demonstrate that they will offer better terms to all members of the NTF than they had previously. We have also included businesses who are offering goods or service that we believe NTF members should be aware of. By only including one business per category, we are deliberately trying to create competition for your business and therefore improved terms.

However, an entry here is definitely not a recommendation. It is up to each trainer to decide if the quality and price is right for them. If you don’t want to use the supplier we have listed, the fact that you know what is on offer from other suppliers may help you negotiate better terms from your current supplier.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why has the site been set up?
As a group, the c500 trainers registered with the NTF train more than 10,000 horses and spend millions of pounds each year on equine products. This site aims to use some of this purchasing power to lower costs for members of the NTF.

How does the site operate?
This is not a directory of services, where business can pay a small fee for inclusion. A business can appear on this site if it can demonstrate that they are prepared to offer better terms to members of the NTF than they had previously or they have a unique service that members should be aware of. We have deliberately only included one business per category, as that way we create competition for your business and improved terms.

What are better terms?
This may be a bigger discount than might otherwise be offered, a discount based on volume or it could be longer credit terms. Suppliers won’t give something for nothing, so the more business that goes their way the better terms we can arrange.

What if the terms are no better than I already get?
The larger yards and better negotiators may have already struck excellent terms from their suppliers but we hope that for the majority of trainers we will have helped them lower their costs.

Are these recommendations?
No. An entry here is definitely not a recommendation. It is up to each trainer to decide if the quality and price is right for their business.

Why are some of the expenditure categories blank?
It takes time to negotiate deals with suppliers but as the site grows it should become easier to persuade businesses that they need to be included. We also hope to get recommendations from Trainers of suppliers or products that should be included.

How is the site funded?
The businesses pay an annual fee for inclusion, which is sufficient to cover all the development and running costs of the site. This means there is absolutely no cost to the members of the NTF.
